W2 Boat Review: 2075 Lund Pro V Bass

by Chris McCotter

One of the newest rivals to fiberglass bass boats is the new aluminum 2075 Pro-V Bass XS tournament fishing boat from Lund. While there a number of unique aspects to the Pro V Bass aluminum bass boat perhaps the most notable is an innovative four-seat layout version, something only fiberglass bass boats can dream about. This versatile, plus aluminum bass boat is designed to handle both shallow and rough water conditions. Two massive casting decks and industry leading rod storage means the Lund 2075 Pro-V Bass XS is built to perform.

In fact bass pro Jeff Gustafson runs a fully tricked out 2075 Pro-V Bass XS and does very well on the Bassmaster Elite Series trail.

Let’s start with a little history of Lund before we get into the specifics of this month’s subject of the W2 Boat Review.

Lund was formed over 75 years ago when Howard Lund built his first aluminum duck hunting boat in 1948 after spending several years working in a Navy shipyard in California. His extreme attention to detail resulted in a boat with superior design to existing products. In the 1950s, Lund’s boat caught the eye of Inland Marine Corporation, which ordered 50 boats for the expanding aluminum runabout market. In 1975 the first flat floor aluminum fishing boat debuted. Lund introduced the tournament-focused Pro-V line in 1988. In the 2000s Lund focused on maximizing storage throughout their boats and was acquired by the Brunswick Corporation (Mercury). In the 2020s Lund introduced species specific models like the Renegade and Pro-V Musky.

Throughout the years the company has stayed committed to honoring his legacy of quality and innovation in everything they do, and the boats are still built in the heart of lakes country, New York Mills, Minnesota.

The Lund 2075 Pro-V Bass XS is the culmination of years of refinement and aluminum boat building experience possessed by the company’s engineers and technicians.

This boat is 20’10” long, 96 inches wide with a 250 hp capacity and the ability to hold up to 49 gallons of fuel. The wood-free boat weight approximately 1,850 pounds with an approximately towing weight of 3,3380 pounds. The hull is fabricated from .125”, .205” and .80” aluminum. The boat is available in forest green metallic, heritage red, cobalt blue, black, gunmetal and artic white.

Standard features include a cell phone holder, fiberglass console and dashboard, interior LED lighting, stereo with two speakers, Mercury outboard, battery master switch, three step flush-mount ladder, ProTrak gunwale, twin plated bottom, cooler and cooler storage, drink holders, fire extinguisher, integrated rule with storage, on the go rod storage, slider seats for the driver and passenger, aft integrated jump seats, butt seat on adjustable pedestal, tandem axle trailer with brakes, spare tire, aluminum wheels, water control storage door frames and lockable center bow rod storage with 15 tubes. A passenger console is a popular option.

Keep in mind the seating arrangement in the Pro-V is different than other bass boats. The driver and passenger sit in seats on pedestals – something that makes raising to the standing position easier the older you get!

With a 250 hp Mercury the boat runs 65 mph. There’s also a Pro-V 1875 XS model. According to Lund, it’s not uncommon for five to 10 year Lund owners to get their original cost back on resale due to the quality associated with the brand.
